SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka, headquartered at the Airline Centre, Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. Launched in 1979 as Air Lanka and rebranded as SriLankan Airlines in 1999, the airline operates its network from its home hub at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), just outside Colombo.
SriLankan Airlines operates scheduled flights across the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Far East, Europe, and Australia. Its fleet is an all-Airbus operation, built around the A320 and A321 families for regional and medium-haul routes, alongside the wide-body A330 for its longer-haul services to Europe and Australia.
SriLankan Airlines became a full member of the oneworld alliance on 1 May 2014, extending its reach through codeshare and interline partnerships with other Oneworld member airlines. Frequent flyers can join FlySmiLes, the airline's loyalty programme, to earn miles and tier status on eligible bookings.
